Almost Bordeaux like. The mid palate separated it from Bordeaux in its depth...lots of dark fruit. The entry and finish revealed faint red and black fruit notes with a touch of sweet oak.

Blue and black fruits, crushed fresh blackberries, cassis, sweet and ripe tannins, and a bit of mocha. Silky and sauve textures, this is all about the hedonism, overt but we are talking 2002 folks so this has got a ways to go, 5 easy, maybe 10 years. The 2002 vintage proves again to me why it was the best vintage ever in Napa. Let's see what 12-13-14 brings! #napa #wine
