Fior di Vino
Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend
Chianti, Tuscany, Italy

Nose was warm and smelled of anise. Fruit was quite delicate with notes of chewy cherry being controlled by wood and herbs.

Drank 10\3\19. Nice with baked ziti.
Bright cherry, and just a hint of earth and sweet spice on the nose. Flavors of juicy, red cherry and a touch of earth. Medium tannins and finish. Overall a much stronger effort than the '14. Won't blow you away, but a nice everyday drinker.

Drank 12/15/18. Nice pairing with pizza.
Trader Joe's value wine at $7
Nose of red fruits with some mint anf pine, atypical for a Chianti classico. Flavors of sour red cherry, forest floor and tar. Medium tannins. Medium finish

Been a while since I’ve had a Chianti. Pretty average, held up nicely to penne with cream sauce. Good bitterness, like a nice Italian espresso.

Cherry and plum are notes, with mice over lays of vanilla, nutmeg and some hazelnut. Nothing too over powering on the palate. For the price, it’s pretty darn good and would get better with age. Letting it breathe for a bit helped as well.

Fior di Vino – Chianti Classico Riserva
Chianti Classico DOCG – Tuscany – Italy 🇮🇹
Overview
A Chianti Classico Riserva built on Sangiovese (typical blend), aged a minimum of 24 months, allowing early tertiary complexity to emerge while preserving vibrant fruit and structure. A balanced, traditional expression with clear regional identity.
Aromas & Flavors
Ripe red cherry at the core, layered with subtle white spices, dried herbs, and earthy undertones. Early tertiary notes begin to weave into the profile.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with elevated acidity and structured tannins. Balanced and textural, with a firm yet approachable palate and a clean, persistent finish.
Food Pairings
Perfect with red sauce pasta, Bolognese, lasagna, and classic Tuscan dishes. Also great with roasted meats and aged cheeses.
Verdict
A reliable, well-structured Chianti Classico Riserva that delivers classic Sangiovese character. Balanced, food-friendly, and a safe, satisfying pairing wine.
