Finca Sophenia
Altosur Tupungato Cabernet Sauvignon
Argentinian Cab Sauv - leather and oak not too bold with some medium tannins on the finish that linger. Nice for the price point.

1 person found it helpfulOct 24th, 2018Costco find. It’s in the face with vanilla oak right in the beginning and leads into a burst of spicy, chewy, fruity Malbec goodness. Not the most refined wine in the world and the depth of flavors wasn’t there, but for under $10 and these delicious ripe and earthy and spicy flavors coming out it’s definitely worth a purchase to enjoy a good decent wine.

Sep 27th, 2020Dark ruby color with a purplish rim.
Very nice on the nose, with blueberries, figs, blackberries, metals, wildberies, peppercorn, herbs and vegetables.
Full bodied and bold.
Dry on the palate with strawberries, sweet cherries, blackberries, black currants, earth, mushrooms, bell pepper and bitter almonds.
Long dry finish with peppercorn, big firm tannins and cherries.
That bitterness didn't sit well with me, but otherwise it is a nice Argentinian cab. Still Young, and will probably get better with time.
Grapes are grown at 4000 ft elevation,at the foothills of Mt. Tupungato.
WS 90 points.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
