Deep reddish purple. Abundant nose of black raspberry and anise. Medium-bodied, fruit-forward palate confirms the nose adding tarry patent leather. Medium plus acidity and fuzzy medium tannins wrap it all up into a pleasant enough pairing for light carnivore fare (a shaved brisket sandwich is my current choice), though I’d look elsewhere — Cahors, perhaps? — for a substantive companion to heartier meals or cigars. Drink up if you have this vintage.

Dense red. Cedar spice eucalyptus and red fruit in nose. Plum and cherry in mouth, tobacco and black pepper finish, seed tannin bitterness in aftertaste, slight spritz on tip of tongue. Smooth mouthfeel. Drinkable now. Paired nicely with latest season's version of Top Chef Restaurant Wars

Creamy blackberry and violet nose. Definitely new world ripe and juicy but in a relatively cool, restrained way. Smooth and elegant.

This is everything a red wine should be. Very strong and very balanced. Spicy fruit, *very* slightly velvety. Doesn't need to breathe. Perfect to drink immediately after opening. Excellent.

Finca Decero wines were the best wines for the money I tasted on our trip so far. The gorgeous body, sensuous fruits, elegance, great natural acidity and beautifully polished finishes for the price are just plain ridiculous.

On the nose; warm, ripe ruby dark currants/cassis. Huge blueberries, blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, anise, rich, moist dark soil and bright lavender & violets.

On the palate, the body is rich & full. The tannins are very round and silky. The fruits are, ripe, ruby and lush; blueberries, blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, creamy raspberries haunt as it opens up. Core of anise, black licorice, sweet tarry notes, rich, moist dark soil, dry top soil and bright lavender & violets. The structure, length, tension & balance are the very definition of harmony. The acidity round and beautiful. The rich, ripe, lush, elegant finish is incredibly beautiful.

Photos of, Finca Dereco visitor center & restaurant. Estate vines, inside of their visitor center and the view of the back of the Estate from their restaurant terrace with the Andes in the background.
