Tommy Hughes who is the Finca Decero Winemaker arranged a four course lunch with eight of his wines. It was an amazing afternoon.
On the nose, ripe; dark cherries, cherries, blue fruit, blackberries, black & plum, dust, vanilla, beautiful, fresh red flowers and violets.
On the palate; the body is full & bold. The tannins are firm and sticky. The fruits are ripe, blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, cherries, strawberries as it opens, there is definitely dust and more of a presence than Rutherford, vanilla, touch of caramel, chocolate, dry crushed rock powder, very soft leather, just a hint of fresh tobacco and dark red florals for days. Acidity like a waterfall and a gorgeous, elegant, sexy, ripe, well balanced finish that lasts minutes.
Photos of, the restaurant terrace view from Finca Decero. The first course, Citrus infused Quinoa, Sun Dried Tomatoes, with melon Sorbet. It was delicious! My wine partner for over 15+ great years and a shot of all the wines for sale in their shop. — 7 years ago
Deep, opaque, brooding, and fantastic. Think petite sirah with elegance and balance. Nose is beautiful if not terribly intense... black fruit, rose hips, violet and some wet earth. Palate has intense blackberry and sweet plums showing just a bit of dried fruit, plus clean spice and toast. Tannins are fine, well-integrated, sweet, and well-integrated in this mouthcoating wine. The wine is youthful and shows great potential to mature nicely. Acidity is medium and very well balanced with all the fruit. Finish is long and very pleasant. I'm looking forward to drinking these bottles over the next ten or fifteen years. (9 views) — 11 years ago
Nice Cabernet Sauvignon found at urban cellars. — 2 years ago
Needs more time. Dense red with new to me vegetal notes. Match for pesto! — 6 years ago
Unless you run a wine program at a South American restaurant, most somms grow tired of the request for Malbec. Friends - there are fine examples on the market, and this is one. Light on it's feet, expressive, and interesting. Close your eyes, and think of Bourgueil — 10 years ago

Bought this just to “try” with several friends at a home get together of several grilled meats; pork, beef and lamb “pieces”. The wine seemed to work nicely with all. Deep, strong hints of fruit and good tannin; I was a bit surprised because of the blends but found it to be a keeper. It has become one of our favorite wines to bring to others when visiting! Good reviews from all who received it!
