Sessantanni Old Vines Primitivo di Manduria

This was a great find. Dark purple in the glass with long legs and a powerful dark fruit, plum and raisin nose. Smooth, concentrated palate that is dense and rich without being overly sweet, tannins are there to give a slightly dry finish but fruit prevails with some cinnamon sprinkles in the mix. Italian primitivo masquerading as Paso Robles Zinfandel, lovely stuff.

Although it is better on day 2 it remains a bit one dimensional. Heat n sweet. Day 2 brings some depth via some almondpaste and nuts.

Deep purple in colour. Lovely nose rich plum notes, wonderful finish. Great acidity and well balanced.

Really terrific Italian Primativo! Extremely fruit forward (cooked raspberries) with hints of prunes, raisins and baking spices. Deep purple color with soft and silky Super concentrated. Not much tannin as this one is Fermented in neutral oak. Long finish that seems a little sweet, but in a good way. Very simple and basic but Great juice!

Sweet, fruity Zinfandel, with a raspberry jam like flavor. Not elegant, but not trying to be. This wine went great with Chinese food, and will go well with spicy food.
