Fetzer Vineyards
Valley Oaks California Cabernet Sauvignon
This 4 year old, simple Cabernet Sauvignon, is still drinking nicely. What a nice surprise.
Full bodied with medium minus acidity.
Showing black plums, black cherries, light oak, vanilla, spices, licorice, alcohol and chocolates.
Has a little residual sugar, and hot at the back of the throat. Simple, and a bit unbalanced, but good enough to drink by itself.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
86 points.

This Cabernet Sauvignon stinks. Literally. Even the Zalto glass could not help it.😃
Showing black fruits, barnyard, alcohol, vegetables, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Hardly drinkable. Maybe one additional year in the bottle would make it tolerable.

I tried it with and without aerator. Right after opening the bottle i would rated it as 7 or so. But after passing it through the aereator it is a great cab for the price. Very shareable wine to share with your partner. If you dont have an aerator i would recommend to leave the bottle open for 1 or 2 hours before serving it. If you have a carafe, pour it into and wait about an hour for a more enjoyable wine. After all it is a great cab for a fun time.

Fruity nose of blackberries, cassis, earth, cedar, vanilla, green peppers, vegetables, sweet cherries, leather and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, fresh currants, green vegetables, herbs, chocolates, earth, leather, tobacco, licorice, oak, vanilla and black pepper.
Medium finish with soft tannins and peppercorn.
A simple, yet drinkable Cabernet Sauvignon from California. Unbalanced, but has some spice to make it a little more interesting. A Good everyday sipper.
Better with hard cheeses like the parmezan cheese and crackers, I paired it with.

A little fruit forward and some spice at the finish. Pretty decent.
