Fess Parker
Ashley's Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Sta. Rita Hills, Central Coast, California, USA
Fess Parker was cast in the roll of Davy Crockett in the mid-1950's. Aromas of berry fruit, earthy notes and floral spices. On the palate cherry, raspberry and cola notes with vanilla and smoky oak tones. Subtle dusty tannins, lingering finish ending with earthy floral character.

Also a lush and weighty but fruit-driven style.

Overripe jammy fruit. Flabbiness the result of not enough cool nights on the vine.

Jan 16th, 2014Smooth tannins, medium acidity, medium+ bodied. Blackberry, cassis, and violet on the palate, with underlying layer of earthy cloves and anise. Maybe some slight hints of bay leaf and sage as well. Very tasty, although a little lacking in complexity on the palate. Day 2 update: the sage and bay leaf are coming through much more on the palate. It’s a lovely combination with the fruit.

While PN from Sta. Rita Hills is known for its bight red cherry fruits, this one has a bit more dark fruits laced with warm spices and still vibrant acidity. The palate is supple and elegant with deep complex flavors. Velvety tannins. At its peak.
