Wine with roasted whole chicken part 2: I used to adore Ribera Sacra, & then moved away with the inevitable rise in price & trend towards more modern styles. Not this. A short decant (45-60) to take the wind out of the Brett sails, & we were off: dense, brambly black fruits on nose & palate, with a distant barn door left open on the nose. Medium plus acidity. It’s the length though that impressed me, along with a freshness (at 13%). Evolves in glass, as if the fruit still has layers. Like a really good chinon. At about 28$, a high end QPR. Eric Solomon imp, interestingly enough.

Not tried this for a while and it's better than I remember (and I liked it to start). Thick, creamy black fruit, violets, cardamon and other curry spices. Palate is rich, silky smooth and has fresh cherry, raspberry and grape concentrate, enough acidity to keep it lifted. Cracking wine for the price with pure, elegant fruit.

Expressive, beautiful nose with aromas of red fruit (strawberry, wild berries), violets, pepper and some herbal and earthy notes. Light, bright and juicy. Mineral. Very easy to drink.

aroma fino, flores azules y frutos rojos. vinificado con uva entera, pero no mucha. muy liguero en boca, poca persistencia, algo aguado, con acidez

Härlig djup doft. Smaken drar åt grön paprika, rosor, viol och järn. Allt kryddat med väldigt mkt peppar. Känns nordrhônsk. Saknar lite frukt och upplever den inte lite silkig som tidigare Ribeira Sacra jag druckit, kan bero på väldigt varm årgång?
