Italian night opened with this very pretty number from Poggio do Sotto. A touch reductive at the start, which quickly blew away to reveal a gorgeous nose of red fruits and flowers, along with hints of earthiness and balsamic vinegar. Very silky and pure on the palate. Its all red fruits with suggestions of spice and minerals. I felt the wine had more to tell us, but on night like this, it never really got its chance. One to revisit.

Absolutely lovely. Hint of sweetness, almost, along with berries and a bit of cherry. Great acid and a wonderful finish. Delicious.
