Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Good, maybe better than good. Lots of life ahead but you have to wonder about the $$$.

One of my favourite wines, ever. The 2007 in particular is beautiful. Has the effortless class of a Burgundy with sour cherries and terrific balance. The length and power is awesome. So much class. What a wine. Will live and live from a classic year. 96pts

One of Brunello's finest. So good, and balanced in a ripe vintage.

A truly elegant Brunello from one of the finest plots of the region Castelnuovo dell’Abate, this 100% Sangiovese was aged for 3.5 y in large casks (much more than the minimum 2 y requirement). It has a deep Ruby color, an enchanting elegant and sexy nose, screaming fines, with black current, mocaccino, cherries and mild note of dry leaves, medium to full body, smooth and caressing the palette , with lovely refined acidity and magically smooth tannins, long delicious finish, my score 91, drink to 2027

#poggiodisotto '07 stewed fruit and so different than the '04, '01. Napa drinkers enjoyed the bigger palate and fruit forward richness. #brunello

Always drinks like nobility

Lucky to have enjoyed both the 07 and 08 within a month. The 07 was more dark-fruited and rich and is fine to drink right away, compared to the more refined and finessed 08.

Always drinks great. mid-berries, balanced tannins, berries.
