Nice tightrope between balance and rustic. Nose has old leather, dried loamy soil, dark cherry skins, and licorice. Friendlier in the mouth, it’s soft, with resolves light tannins and good acids to complement the straightforward winey flavors. Great weeknight companion to country Italian dinners. HT to my brother for gifting it to me.

A fruit-forward yet wonderfully fresh red, showing a mix of cherry, raspberry, sweet herbs and spice. Cooling minerals and earth tones balance the warmth of the 2015 vintage nicely. Vinified in large neutral oak. $18.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2020)

Little thin and tannic at first. With air and a few degrees warmer, much nicer. Really s food wine. Complimented the gnocchi and meat sauce really well.

Dark and dense color, the aroma is subtly Italian with leather and licorice but is not lively with authentic local feel. The weight and density is very satisfying, it does not feel like mass-produced, event though it is modern and very clean. It does not have the nuances and aromatic intensity to be considered excellent, however the consistency and integrity of flavor is very impressive.
