Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
The Fantesca property on Spring Mtn is gorgeous, and their tasting room at the winery is stunning. Really enjoyed getting to try more of their wines.
Tried both this 2013 and the 2015. Percentage make up escapes me, but both heavily dominated by cab as expected. On a table of their own, these would go quick as they are delicious Napa cabs...fruit abounds across the whole spectrum, though it’s mainly red and black. Cocoa dusted dates, cassis, currant, baking spices, and Ghiradelli black cherry chocolate. As with Heidi’s cabs, the tannin structure is big and age worthy, but the fruit here is ready for early enjoyment. However, I thought the chard and Pinot stole the show!

Actually think this is the ‘grace’. Each vintage is a different, all great things. Beautiful wine. Deep, layered, textured.

Wine was outstanding with notes of dark berries, spice, and oak, with a smooth finish.

Big fruit but not overly tannic. From our Napa trip. At Tangs with Chius and Galvanis. Again at Galvanis in Houston.

Whoa. This is a big juicy, fruity magnificent wine!!! Fantesca is one of our favorites on the planet. This bottle, Mercy, is just divine. If you know Napa, then you know the big nose, long legs, party on your palate that this and only Napa wines can bring...
