Mar 8th, 2016Gigondas is just a few miles from CDP a very diverse appellation and they have the terroir with lots of sand on the top and limestone at the bottom. This parcel is prephloxera they survived because of the sand all Grenache the vines are at. 300 meters. The vines look like small trees at 140 years old and this wine has incredible balance more Pinotesque has a very pretty nose beautiful fruit cherry and plum like fruit with smooth tannins and a lovely freshness very well built. Finish 45+

Dry. Flavors of ripe black fruit, licorice, vanilla, spice, raspberry, cinnamon. Medium, subtle tannins. Great acidity.

For me in its prime this juicy and fleshy Gigondas. Smooth in the middle and really nice and long finish with cherries and bitter chocolate.
