Judging by past comments, I can say the funk is much diminished in the 2021 vintage. Still a bit sweet, but Bordeaux vibes for QPR. Ok.

Rich, round, deeply concentrated. Me gusta. And funk free! That problem from earlier vintages appears to have been solved.

Took a long time to open up, but when it did I got notes of crushed dark berries, slate, maybe some wet forest floor leaves, black cherry and a hint of charcoal. Full bodied and silky, with some mouth drying tannins and a slightly rocky palate, with crushed blackberry, iron, compote, smoky ash, and some green like notes, like splintered dry young saplings.

May 10th, 2025Good but a bit chewy. Would drink again but it’s on the full bodied side. Helen’s.

Sep 10th, 2021I'm gonna diverge from the pack here and say this is a very solid wine and great value, but it does need air and food. Guerlain violets, blackcurrant, underbrush on the nose. Midpalate is a little lacking and it doesn't have the stuffing to age for much more than 5-10 years, but this is definitely a B+/A- at its peak. This declines after a few hours of air and gently shows more of a natty side, bringing down to a B-/C+. We'll average it out at a solid B. I'd give this 30 minutes to open and then finish over dinner.
