... and then there was dinner. Grilled balsamic / soy marinated skirt steak, roasted and herbed baby bell peppers, and grilled ciabatta, paired with Zuccardi’s, Concreto, Malbec from Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina. Delish!!!! Vintage 2017. ABV 14%.

Wow. Deep red, almost black (but not really purple). Bold wine with raspberry and blackberry notes, noticeable acidity and tannins. Not sweet or jammy at all. We had spicy food and the wine could still stand out. No oak. Great!

Very good, quite a bouquet with smooth, drinkable flavors. Nothing to dislike, just lacking a little umph.

I know I will enjoy a wine when it fills the room with a gorgeous aroma the moment it hits the decanter. The initial aroma brings leather, pepper, and a combination of fruit flavors including currant and blackberry. I’m appreciating restraint in winemaking more and more, and this wine serves as a good example. It’s remarkable the flavor profile this wine shows considering the aging was done in concrete vats. The body is a tad light for my palate, but the tannin contribution from the grape clusters is impressive.
