St. Giorgio – Chianti Classico Riserva 2019
Tuscany, Italy 🇮🇹 – DOCG

Overview
Made predominantly from Sangiovese, this Chianti Classico Riserva reflects Tuscany’s classic profile with its red-fruit core, oak aging, and elegant structure. The Riserva designation ensures extended aging (at least 24 months), which adds depth and polish to the wine.

Aromas & Flavors
Plenty of ripe red fruits — cherries, raspberries, and strawberries — framed by subtle vanilla, toasted oak, and a hint of spice. A light herbal edge ties it back to its Tuscan roots.

Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with balanced acidity, lightly firm tannins, and a smooth flow through the finish. The oak adds just enough roundness without overpowering the freshness of the fruit.

Food Pairing
Perfect alongside Tuscan classics like bistecca alla fiorentina, pappardelle with wild boar ragu, or aged pecorino. It also pairs nicely with grilled pork chops or tomato-based pasta dishes.

The Verdict
A polished, versatile Chianti Classico Riserva that balances fruit, oak, and structure with finesse. Enjoyable now for its supple fruit and texture, but it also has a few more years of life in the cellar. Cheers!

Felt it was too acidic, little depth, drank 1 glass and poured the rest down, not sure if it was a bad bottle.

A black cherry punch to start. A touch of vanilla. It's a dark wine for such an even tannin profile. The vanilla lingers. Light acidity. Had it with pasta/marinara. But a nice wine for Italian dishes.

Leathery and black fruit notes on the nose. Med-high acidity, med- smooth tannins, med alcohol. Black cherries on the front of the palate, leathery spice at the back with some hints of herbaciousness. Easy drinking, happy with the quality for the price of this bottle!

This wine is the result of a selection from the finest grapes in the vineyards of the Chianti Classico area. The St. Giorgio Riserva mirrors the tradition of the refined art of Tuscan winemaking. Aged in oak cast for 24 months and an additional 3 months in bottle, this rich red wine, full bodied and dry, leaves a complex find ouch of cherries and pepper. It is excellent with routs game, duch, pasta and aged cheeses.
