Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

On the nose, blueberries, sweet strawberries, raspberries, wood, tobacco, spices, earth, black licorice, vegetables, vinaigrette, sweet herbs and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, oak, tobacco leaf, spices, vegetables, bitter herbs, graphite, earth, vinaigrette and peppercorn.

Short finish with fine grained tannins and tart pomegranates.

This 6 year old Chianti Classico Riserva is drinking nicely now. A bit unbalanced and better with food.

Showing a soft mouthfeel with mild complexity.

Would pair nicely with pasta and red sauce.

13% alcohol by volume.

86 points.

$15.

Dark, smooth, full bodied, very good on its own and went well with a red sauce meal.

$13 @ Costco makes this my new favorite CC. Very well done, no rough edges, such great defined flavors & aromas: early season cherries, violets, sweet soil, cracked white pepper & minerals. Lovey balance & harmony.

Had 2016 in 2023, got from WineThing. This is is best Sangiovese that we’ve ever had! It was great and mellow right out of the bottle. 😋

Lovely cherry, tobacco and licorice. Soft and easy. Good value Chianti. Killer with red tomato sauce.

Rich but balanced. Dark berries, black cherry. Cocoa dust. Acid and tannins. Great food wine.
