New World Gamay sourced from the historic Seven Springs Vineyard. Corked bottle. Opened for guests. Very disappointing! 12.5% ABV. $45.

ELV thought I was crazy 4 years ago when I special ordered the 2010 to Colorado for a BTG pour. "Don't you mean the Pinot?" 14 hours after pulling the cork this wine is great.

Been working with the 83 planted Gamay on this site since 09, such an interesting vintage. The last time the old vines will be bottled separately. This is one of the great domestic Gamay sites, but this may be a vintage where the declassified wines (03block) outperform the old block. It's an acid thing.

I was very excited for an Oregon Gamay, especially from Evening Land, but this one fell short. On the palate I got a sharp citrus almost carbonated taste that simply doesn't fit with the example and ruins the wine. The proper fruit density was there but simply not enough to make up for its shortcomings.
