Since Evening Land was sold there have been a lot of great closeout deals on back vintages, perhaps none better than this Grand Cru burg at $30. This is pretty tight at this stage, but behind the firm tannins are some beautiful delicate aromas. I have a few more and won't be touching them for a while.

This is a conundrum in my book. Close your eyes and enjoy a Pinot that is bright, fresh, tart, open, quaffable, nice. But it is a recent release Clos Vougeot. How could it be that way?
