Sub-$20 Riesling doesn’t get much better. Searing acids, and that extra punch and amplitude of great Rheingau wine. Dry-ish. For me, Fricke and Peter-Jakob Kuhn are miles ahead of the pack in this region.

I’ve never been a big fan of German Riesling given the residual sugar and carbonation. Eva Fricke’s effort is mild on both counts. Good peach and melon favors with a hint of passion fruit. A bit of acidity to the rescue on the finish.
