Kicking off a fabulous flight of wine with this 2001 Etude. Still a bit oak-dominant, but not in an unpleasant way - it tastes of ginger, Christmas spices, dried mint, and muddled red currants.

One of my best experiences with Napa Cab to date. Perfectly aged with an authentic patina. Outstanding!

I miss working with Jon Priest. Guy can make killer Pinot and slip in a sexy Cab without batting an eye.

Bryan opened this for us at Oakton Wine Shop at our little stop over this afternoon. Dark ruby red with purplish hues. Nose had some restrained dark berries. Definitely tight but started to open up with some more baking spices, like cinnamon. A little dirty too, like dust or dirt undertones. Slight heat on the nose. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) definitely needs some time to develop and fill out. Dark cassis and cherries with an undertone of warm spices with a little bite. Seems like the fruit on the palate is tied down. Kinda makes us want to cuddle up and watch a movie very warm and grows on you. Drink from 2017 till 2026.

Still holding but nearing the decline. Good dried cherry and anise aromas. Flavors of pie cherry, cassis, and herbs with soft tannins. Round and full with nice acid and Bretty richness.

Cassis on the nose and a bit of brett. The texture is so silky, I just can't get enough. I paired it with a creamy pasta dish which added to the mouthfeel. A bit of mushroomy earth quality as well. The alcohol and acid are in a good balance. 2006 vintage but important to note that it's a 375 so it aged a bit faster.
