I've been rooting for Mencia for a long time, and this is the most exciting producer working with the stuff. Very youthful, much better on the second day. Elegant, complex. Can't wait to try their Canary Islands bottlings.

Mencia from Ribeira Sacra, old vines on slate & granite. Aged in used white burgundy barrels, and I can't detect oak flavors so...well done! Pretty black fruit and purple flowers. Definitely more unwound than 2014.

Not ready yet. Nice tho.

Bright fruit and floral all up front but with light pleasure

Nose has great mix of kola spice and foxy twig. Palate is slightly blunt but has refined tannin and lush dark fruit

Good herbal intricacy, rustic and earnest

Beautiful bouquet, just the right amount of spice. The real deal.
