A worthy redemption to my abysmal wine run in 2023! LC18. So delicious. Once more, I reckon WK nailed the tasting notes here, “Offering up inviting aromas of crisp orchard fruit, blanched almonds, honeycomb, walnuts and fenugreek, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and precise, with a fine-boned but intensely flavored profile, complemented by a beautiful pinpoint mousse. Brochet is the master of intensity without weight, and this wine exemplifies that.” Awe-inspiring salinity too if I had to add anything to WK’s notes. Super wine!

37% Pinot Noir, 33% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay. Base of 80% 2016 and 20% 2015, aged in new to 12yo barrels for eleven months, and was then given two and a half years 'sur lattes' before disgorging. The malolactic fermentation was completed.
A lovely wine from a rather unheralded village (Villers-Aux-Nœuds), despite its 1er Cru status.
Manages to have both a wonderful richness while maintaining a baseline of briny freshness.

Années: 20% '11, 80% '12, Dosage: 4g/l, Decanted/Burgundy glass, took about 1.5hrs to shine, was tried beside the Savart, both such outstanding examples of true/pure RM's, there was the beautiful yogurt intensity that shone through with some air, much like the Savart, such great terroirs.
