Soulful. Some whole cluster really leans into the earthy-spice character of Nerello, Amari-esque. Apothecary, muddled berries, hot rock, licorice, rhubard, dried orange, leather. Tannins build and have a pleasant coarseness to them.

This was an amazingly enjoyable wine for being so young. Somewhat pale red in color, the palate was full of red fruit, spices, slate, tar, and volcanic ash. My first exposure to this varietal was pleasant indeed.
