Deep ruby red. A pinch of Rutherford Dust on the attack of the nose followed up by some bitter cocoa, dried spices, damp leaves and blackberries. Medium plus tannins (7/10) with a medium plus body. Great structure and acidity on the palate with strawberries, light blackberries, some cinnamon, a touch of vanilla and dark gravel. Very dry and long finish. Drink till 2032.
Aged for 30 months in 60% new French oak. Made up of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Only 928 cases produced.

2007 vintage. Nice fill, nice cork. Opened with a Durand. Decanted with minimal sed. Tasted 30 mins and 2 hrs after decanting. Light-medium body. Impressions of black olive, earth, mushrooms, baking chocolate and dark plum/cherry. As befitting the Elyse style, not a demonstrative effort but more of an enduring one focused on subtleties. More comparable pleasure ahead...for at least 5-7 years. 01.15.26.
