From a magnum....was decanted for over an hour and singing! I have had other vintages over the years and haven't been wowed by them but I think it is because they deserve time in bottle to reveal themselves fully. I feel this wine is made in an old school Napa style that gives it more longevity and balance than a high alcohol fruit bomb would. Smooth and lingering finish made for a great experience. Good to see those '01s holding up so well!

Wonderful souvenir of my visit to the property a few weeks ago, perhaps not as elegant as the more recent vintages but a great example of Napa at its finest.

Wonderfully balanced. Tannins are in great form. Beautiful fruit both on the nose and palate. And yet I remain underwhelmed. Maybe I'll just never develop the unquenchable thirst for Cali Cabernet.

A special treat from a friend to help celebrate a special birthday. Rich and deep color suggests that this wine still has many years of life, and the hour plus of time in the decanter helped the wine’s structure loosen and become very inviting. Also Bordeaux like on the nose.
