Cuvée du Pépé Roussette de Savoie Frangy Altesse

2014 is a great vintage. Old vine Roussette, fat & acidic at the same time with all that smoky, stone fruit. Gimme that mushroom fondue!

Pale gold, lemon sherbet, white lilies, dry, zingy acidity, refreshing citrus notes with a most pleasant creaminess; long finish.

Opened 10 days ago. Indeed just a bit too oxidized, perfect as cooking wine!

Third try and it’s more like first tasting. No sign of oxidation. Lean acidic white fruits minerals as noted. Good one.

Wilson Mabel 6/15/22 visit dinner at 25. May be a bit oxidized yellow medium color but hot that acid core that went well with the mixed menu including shrimps.

CVed 10/11/17. Acker11. White flowers and nuts and blast of acids on nose. Palate of minerals and acids and almonds and hints of surprising fruit sweetness just beneath the tension and long finish. Energy! Mouth puckering acidity. Great food wine. First taste of Altesse. Vieilles Vignes. Need to compare with Brondien.

Good, complete malolactic, lacking a bit of the cleanliness and crispness that characterizes alpine altesse. Still a delicious apertif

Full malo unlike their younger vine offering. Medium acid. A bit flat. Mineral, oxidative nose. Interesting wine.
