Nov 21st, 2017Just look at that color, isn't that gorgeous? This is one of the reasons I love Nebbiolo, light yet powerful. Rose pedals, smoked bacon, sour cherries and cranberries, game, dust, hint of mushroom. Pretty closed nose. Huge palate attack, bone dry, dusty tannins, massive structure, nice acidity. Oak nicely integrated, tons of preserved prunes/plums and dried cherries, liquorice, really long finish 40s+, slightly bitter though, no heat detected. 2009 is a tough vintage for Barolo, very uneven ripening but Mrs Chiara Boschis nailed it, powerful+beautiful. 14.5% alc

What a bouquet of bright red fruit and if this is possible, sweet rose!!! Notes of leather unmistakable both on nose and palate.... needs time to open but first impression: lithe elegance!
