Young & bright. Plenty of room to age & become balanced. Black berry, blackcurrant & pepper with pleasant oak. 2012 vintage

Sipping Fine Wine

E Guigal produces fine Rhône wines, had this a while ago, tried again. Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruit and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry fruit, cacao, leather and earth notes, vivid acidity on well structured frame. Fine tannins, lingering finish ending with fruit character. Good now will cellar well, a bargain compared to its Hermitage neighbors.

Expectedly splendid #coterotie from E. Guigal. The thoughtful wine bar we were at did decant it for us and it does benefit from that patience. Rich fruit nicely balanced by tartness, some smoked meat flavors and a beautiful lacy peppery note on the finish. I liked that it was a relatively reasonably priced bottle for a nice wine bar.

Surprising sweet taste. Does soften and becomes very moorish.

Night two of this showed a completely different wine. Olive brine, goji, raspberry liqourice, roasted beef and floral characters galore. In the gig was where this wine truly delivered too
