Garnet color. Dark, meaty and powerful nose. Medium+ body, balanced with clear roasted meat and black pepper notes. Long finish.

This was our last wine of the night and it did not disappoint. One of the great Moulines! Still many years to go.

Oct 14th, 20161988 E. Guigal La Mouline Cote Rotie Syrah. Drank at Cassia w P&R and K. What a treat! Vegetal on the nose and nice acidity. We really enjoyed this.

Sep 14th, 20151980 vintage. Is this corked? Minty, musty,weird nose with a bit of wet cardboard. Others say no. I'm not so sure. Beautiful texture, but the fruit seems compressed. Fully resolved tannins. Finishes clenched. So sad. This was purchased on release and well stored. No rating. Flawed. At the end of the night I revisited a bit I saved in a glass and the consensus is that this is corked. Tragic. This should have been the wine of the night.
