Côtes du Rhône Rosé Blend
What a hefty rose, clocking in at 14.5%. A serious bbq rose, which is how it was drunk, with friends

Jul 10th, 2018Pale salmon core, medium water white rim. Medium minus aromatics, mineral driven, graphite, fresh strawberry, white pepper, thyme. Medium body, juicy medium acid, medium plus alcohol gives a slight prickle on the lips. Flavors on the nose are duplicated on the dry, medium finish with discreet bitterness.

2 people found it helpfulOct 2nd, 2015For rosé to grab at the store right now these days this is my top pick. Okay, so it is a snazzy "I need something but I am at Vons/Safeway/pavilions etc but it needs to be More Than Acceptable. So what I got was an entry level E Guigal. Not a lose situation!
The nose is rich with strawberries and apricots. On the tongue it is dry, medium acid, medium alcohol (13.5% which technically is medium plus according to the WSETs), body is, for a rosé medium plus, and what does it taste of? The true question. The answer: Strawberries, a hint of elderflower, apricots or white peaches (not other varieties I promise there is. difference), a hint of white pepper (a HINT barely), coconut (again, a HINT normally I hate coconut butnit works here) and stones. Smooth Imagine holding a very dark slate stone in your hand. So smooth and dark. And you put it in your mouth. With alcohol and HELLZ ya that's it. Finish: medium. It does not totally fall off but does not evolve. This wine is a solid+ buy but that is where it stops. Which is to say for a casual night I will buy it again.

Fresh fruity and pleasant, this Rose of Côte du Rhone by Guigal is pleasant and easy to drink, light red, nose full of fresh red fruits, raspberry, strawberry and red currents, medium fruity body with nice fresh acidity. Pleasant finish. My score 84, drink to 2017
