Dunn Vineyards
Trailer Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Fun afternoon at Classic with great company. Glad you could join us Bryan.
This is unicorn wine, ladies and gentlemen. Never thought I’d get to try one of these as they are super rare (and stupid expensive). Old vines, actually, as this was the original vineyard Randy planted back in the ‘70s. Sadly, ‘13 was the last vintage of this as it was replanted. It’s undoubtedly Dunn in its power and structure with an added sweet, velvet mid palate and finish. Charcoal/smoke, roasted blue and black fruit, and clove. Finish is just a mind-blowing evolution of potpourri, baked berry pie and savory notes. Deserves a table to its own and a few more years to grow up to its potential. Awesome stuff @Mark Flesher .

Such a special wine made by Mike Dunn from the winery's Trailer Vyrd in 2012 and 2013 prior to replanting. It's approachable now with some decanting. #dunnvineyards

Oct 30th, 2016Where it all started. The first single vineyard Dunn Family effort. With respect to their first vineyard where Randy used to stay in a trailer working his own project and Caymus at the same time, achem....badass. The biggest and ripest Dunn I've ever tasted. This can age for 25+ years no problem. But i suspect the 13 to be even bigger and tighter. At 13.9% alcohol this is ripe for Dunn. Overripe black currants and iron. Major red bell pepper like pyrazines and super clean and tight oak. Id normally never open a Dunn younger than 10 years old, but, like anyone else who bought the two pack OWC, i was curious on how long to hold bottle #2. Its approachable now and after several hours in decanter its come into greatness. Worth buying and laying down for a while, a long while.

Its way to young, but I'm willing to make the sacrifice to see what to do with my other bottle.
Im giving it a couple hours or more to open up.
