This was Michel Drappier's first vintage, and I was lucky enough to drink it with him, his father and his son- Three generations of Drappier's! Truffles, forest floor and deep golden toast balanced by enough clean acid to go another generation!

Anniversary wine! And my birth year too. Still quite fresh - needed to open up. Super caramel apple initially but biscotti and lemon zest with anise to finish up. 79 vintage opened summer 15

Very good mature Champagne! Complex and great tension. Acidity was still kicking live and well, with dried fruits and dried flowers. A great wine to enjoy now.
