Whoaaaa Dragonette per the usual I could drink a gallon. All the classic Syrah fun: ripe blackberries and black pepper, blueberry jam on acid. The darkness! The acid! All pipes up here. Get in.

A surprising amount of ripe fruit on the nose but the palate has loads of white and black pepper spiciness, dried herbs, and just a hint of earthiness. Tannins are mellow medium. Great with Coq au Vin.

On the nose, the wine displays complex, multi-fruit aromas beginning with blackberry, then moving into raspberry, late season strawberry, and rhubarb pie, complimented by spices and fragrant herbs such as pine, anise, fennel seed, nutmeg, mulling spices, cinnamon, mint, and hints of citrus and citrus flowers along with dark violets. On the palate the wine is medium bodied and richly flavored, yet taut and suave, as complex black and blue fruits mingle with high toned raspberry and ripe pomegranate, fresh mint and bay leaf, pine needles, and tar. The flavors are supported by fine tannins, citrus tinged acidity and a refreshing stone/granite minerality which gives the wine a long finish now and promises further development over the next several years.

Loads of dark chocolate with ripe raspberry and cherry notes throughout. Bacon and pepper on the nose, but not much follow through on the palate. Excellent with short ribs, but lacking crucial minerality that elevates Syrah.

Seriously good wine. Seven vineyards, made by seven folks. Just amazing blending by Brandon. Underbrush and lavender. Consistent palate and nice structure and finish. I'm going to miss you, SB.

Like a good Saint Joseph. Cured meat, black olive, little oak sweetness and white pepper.
