Opulent Pinot Gris with exuberant fruit balanced by intense floral notes and intense minerality. Volcanic terroir makes the first impression with smoky, musky aromas that are lifted up by the finesse of violet and lavender perfume. The fruit is soft initially with melon, peach and pineapple but finishing with a pithy accent and leaving a trace of bitter almonds. I’m loving the palate-coating structure and freshness of this vintage, which both provide a great balance for the rather ripe and fleshy fruit component. This is superb and just keeps getting better with extended aeration.
