Dusty. Intensely rich. Grippy. Nice stuff. Pairs well with premium cheeseburgers. 🍔 🍷

90% Cabernet, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot. On the nose; rich, lush dark, cassis. Blackberries, blueberries, black raspberries, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, soft minerals and fresh, red & dark florals. The fruits match the nose. Dark, rich soil, leather, crushed rocks, nice amounts of baking spices and fresh violets. Lovely round acidity. The finish is; big, rich, round and elegant. It's a beautiful wine. Photos of; the metal framing of their new winery and tasting facility; which they should move into in January 18 and open to the public in April. The cellar room concrete floor & walls are already poured and painted underneath the metal framing. Also, their new Syrah vines and some experimental Bordeaux varietals planted this spring, their Healy vineyard sign and their barrel cellar. Look for Doubleback to continue to push quality in their new winery starting with the 18 vintage.

This was an awesome wine! Currant, mulberry, dark blueberry and tart strawberry fruit red soaked in course tannins, which transformed into a soft pleasant landing during a 3 minute lingering finish. Drew came through! Go COUGS!!

Zoom event with Drew Bledsoe and Josh McDaniels. Vertical from ‘07, ‘14, ‘15, ‘16, ‘17, ‘17 estate, and ‘18. All were exceptionally smooth and silky with good depth of fruit. Notes on the ‘14: 89% CS, 8% petite Verdot, 2% Malbec, 1% Merlot. Darkest of the wines in the tasting. Raspberry and violet on the nose. Black fruit, a little more oak than other vintages showing through. Good mid palate density. Very long earthy finish.

We toasted the old Year with Doubleback’s 2014 Cab. Signed by both Drew Bledsoe and the wine maker. Dusty leather came to mind. Deep dark earthy flavors. However, they didn’t transition into a multi-layer complexity. Also the finish was not as intense and grippy as I had hoped for. So contrary to our 2019. Here at the end of the year where Tammy is concluding her mayor tenure after 16 years and 25 years of service to the community and the City. She received overwhelming gratitude and love from folks from all walks of life who felt she had impacted their life for the better. Reflecting back at the honoring we received at Capital Church (my first standing ovation I have received in my life ...it pays to hangout with the big wig 😄), the heart warming, full of grace and gratitude dinner with the Stake Presidents. The emotional, caring, loving, tears and laughter farewell event with the City directors and employees and finally, the 250 community stakeholders, friends and family joining us at the Mayor Tammy farewell dinner at Scentsy. What a grand finale. Cheers 2019! You have been fantastic and your finish will linger forever!!!

Drew Bledsoe’s wine - outstanding. Opened a little hot at first with lead and tannins, but then dark rich fruits came through with light cassis and chocolate. His wine maker? Josh McDaniels - coincidently...same name different guy

Very very good. The structure and balance from start to finish are excellent. The nose is the best part. The finish lingers.
