Sweet lime juice, limestone.

Key lime, crushed stone.

Not quite as energetic as I was hoping.

2014 drunk in early 2024. Delicious. Bright and alive with a little honey. Said it before, but it’s unfair to other wines how good Dönnhoff is.

Paired with Taiwanese Five Spice Pork (Lu Rou Fan | 卤肉饭) over Jasmin rice with lightly fried eggs from our private egg factory in the backyard. Locally raised NY pork (Kinderhook Farm, Valatie, NY), Columbia Co.

Salty, crisp orchard fruit, cool herbs, crushed rock. Some SO2 detracting somewhat, blew off by day 4 😂

Lime zest, prickly pear, crushed shells, sweet citrus finish.

Smells like paint/petrol and a bit of fruit, on the palate, sour candies, minerals, and acidity. Taste of the old.
