The 07’ Hermannshohle was a wine I’ve enjoyed immensely many times before, but the Kirchspiel wiped the floor with it on this occasion. It was just a little too broad in comparison - very obvious that it had more of those golden berries come through. Still quite delicious though, with also a melange of fruits which pushes the candied edge at times, good minerality though a little earthier, and a very long finish. Definitely a “baroque” wine.

Golden color; stone fruit, white peach, slight citrus-honeyed aromas with very faint diesel, tdn, or grape petrol aroma associated with Riesling. Layered, honeyed, long with excellent balance and tasting dry but probably has a touch. Intense flavor. A WOW wine.

Citrus, fresh pineapple and apricots. Great acidity, some diesel and lanolin. Holding up very nicely for 9 years old

Prompted by a berserker note... This is spot on. Mineral. Lemon zest. Juicy and balanced and crisp and perfectly aged. Another life affirming wine
