Donnachiara
Irpinia Aglianico
Drank 8/21/17 along with Bucatini Carbonara. PNP.
2nd time drinking, impressed on both occasions.
I couldn't find any recommendations on stemware for Aglianico, so I tried with Bordeaux, and Old world Syrah/Sangiovese glasses, both Riedel. The Syrah/Sangiovese glass was preferred.
Wine had a nose of red cherry, tar, and a touch of barnyard when warm. Palate of Black cherry, tar, and earth. Acidity lower than Sangiovese based wines, with moderate tannins and a medium finish. Preferred at around 75 degrees.
3/22/8/5/3 + 50 = 91 pts
