Paicines Claret

Classic

Very impressed with this Napa style (but technically Central Coast grapes) Claret, containing representatives of every Bordeaux varietal! It is rich with dark cherry, mocha, and dusty tannins.

An old school, 5 grape Claret from Paicines AVA. Ripe blackberry, boysenberry, jam, smoke, blueberry, leather, and red dust. Clearly hot climate juice that that could use more acid, but for $15 you can't complain.

I can't even recall where I got this bottle. It isn't bad and it's quite drinkable but nothing to write home about. It has a bit too much unbalanced acidity for my taste.

Good for winter and red meat dinner

Well received…. Spicy and a nice smooth finish.

Seemed like a strong flavor initially. Mellowed out as we drank it more. Decant well before consumption.

Young now. All the parts are there and this needs time. Warm bing cherry and baking spices, wet rocks with hints of seaweed. Let’s check back in 6 years

I get a chocolate and raspberry smell and taste. Great wine!
