Dominus Estate
Napanook Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
More earthy than a typical of this style. Wild. Old world, even. Complex and tangy. I taste cigars and the cedar plank that accompanies it.

Nov 12th, 2019Way too young. Wait a decade, at least. Wouldn’t be fair to judge honestly. Like a unbridled beast that just arrived in its new barn.

Jun 22nd, 2019Baby Dominus shows like its bolder brother. Well balanced, full bodied, easy drinking with blackberry, black fruit and Good level of oak. Great alone, even better with a lamb chop.

Aug 1st, 2018Opaque ruby with an unmistakably herbaceous nose. Plenty of earth, mushrooms, cedar, tobacco, and a touch of cherry and heat as it opens. I love my second labels and this is easily one of the more prestigious ones. Compared to Dominus, this is relatively affordable, even. This is far, far more green than I was expecting, so don’t come here looking for a fruit bomb Napa Cab. On the palate, cigar smoke, sautéed mushrooms, dark chocolate, menthol, and green bell pepper. Moderately longish finish with spice and more heat from the alcohol. No need to let this sit, pop and pour now.
