Nov 15th, 2017This has exhilarating fruit intensity, lovely fine grained tannins and powerful minerality. Lively acidity and juicy texture throughout. Black cherry, licorice, orange peel, black tea and iron notes are particularly apparent tonight. This will age very well but is also extremely delicious to taste in its exuberant youth.

Jun 14th, 2013While interesting in its expression of the soils it's grown in- lots of decomposed granite and basalt- it strikes me as a little flat. Quite dark black fruit but somehow trails off and doesn't seem to transmit much in the upper registers. Tasted alongside foillard 2011 which was much more lifted but also a shade more bretty than ideal to my palate, I still preferred the foillard.
