This is not hitting. It seems a bit unbalanced and acidic and medium finish. Definitely not worth the price. #beaune #premiercru #dominquelafon #lafon

* appearance: medium ruby core with slightly amber rim
* aromas: red cherry, strawberry, cinnamon, cloves, red roses, hints of damp earth
* palate: red fruit, minerality
* structure: high acidity, medium+ tannin/silky, 13% ABV
* finish: tart with silky tannin
* winemaking: made under his own negociant label separate from the family domaine “Domaine des Comtes Lafon” although almost all fruit comes from vineyards he owns or has contract to farm
* recommendation: very nice villages level wine, drinking well now
* cost: $80

Tart cherry start, dry earth and spice, and then dry berry finish. Definitely burgundy.

Aged village wine strutting secondary characteristics! Tea, dried currant and red apple, dried flowers and decaying leaves, plump dried fruit on palate with plenty of acid left! Fun drink

"Coravined" this. I will try more weeks/months down the road to see how well it works.
Nose: chocolate covered cherry, red berries, mushroom, a little raspberry, cranberry, just a touch of menthol, touch of earth, does celery salt sound completely strange?
Palate: meaty, nice structure, still good acidity, chocolate, velvety, balanced tannins but they are there nicely, that cranberry from the nose is there on the palate. What a great Thanksgiving wine this would be.

Tart cherry...fab wine but I was hoping for a more expressive nose...it opened up more after an hour but still not quite what I hoped for

May 28th, 2015Yummy leftovers from a WSET class today. Loaded with dark plum, tart cherry and forest floor spice. Firm tannins and juicy acidity suggest this will be better in 5 years and hold for another 5 years beyond that.
