Slow ox’ed overnight. Day one, this was thin and brutally tannic. Typical ruby color in the glass with a faint orange rim. Aromatics of underripe strawberries, bing cherry, thyme, little VA, medicinal. Saved other half of bottle for following day.

Second day, the mid-palate has gained depth and the finish, while still tannic (even with food), was much more agreeable. More floral aromatically with tar, cherry menthol, and herbs de Provence at the finish.

I’d hold another 5-7yrs. For what it’s worth, I don’t drink much Italian wine but if I do, it’s normally Merlot or BdM.

We had the 2012 Vintage on 4/16-17/23. Tastes and scents of strawberry, raspberry and leather. Medium bodied and Old World. Next time I will not decant to prevent oxidation

Medium ruby core , narrower just garnet rim . Slightly smoky, deeper dark fruits , touch cassis , black cherry . Quite masculine and forceful in style , but Touch herbal , pretty high tannin , ok acidity , ok length . Needs more time , better in 5 years or so and will last a further 5- 10 .
