Tons of concentration and bright apple, with plenty of yeasty brioche. Enjoyed all day long.

Barons de Rothschild is a collaborative effort between three branches of the Rothschild family—Château Lafite, Château Mouton and Château Clarke. The color of straw, with aromas of brioche, honeycomb and poached pear. The mousse isn't particularly fine, and it's on the lighter side in terms of body. This Champagne possesses a youthful quality, with medium acidity weaving through notes of buttered croissant, apple tart and a hint of minerality on the finish. For a Rothschild project, I had hoped for more.

Really enjoyed this Champange that gives a nice blast of lemon and lime zest.

How to lazy Sunday. The blend is 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, but it’s all in the finesse. Apricot, lemon, pear and cherry with almond, brioche and wet stone.

Sipping Fine Wine

The three branches of the Rothschild family have joined forces with Champagne families whose passion, for generations, has been to produce exceptional wines, an unusual alliance, but Wow! A blend of 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with ripe fruit aromas and biscuit notes. On the palate pear and apple with lively mineral tones in a light mousse with tiny bubbles. Long fresh finish with warm yeasty ending. Tasting Sample.

Fresh and clean. A palate scrubber. First rate aperitif for Lafite Master Class with Charles Chevalier, technical director of Lafite Rothschild.

Good but grossly overpriced for what it is.
