The 20’ marks the first vintage of dry Pinot Gris made from the cru, and it’s surprisingly aromatic for the variety. Lifted notes of quince, ripe pear, white flowers, and a touch of spice and smoke lead into a broad yet focused palate. Lovely hint of sweetness. The texture is ample but kept in check by a firm mineral spine and gentle phenolic grip. Long saline finish.
I tasted the lovely 09’ Clos Jebsol VT some years ago. It will be increasingly difficult to produce sweet wine from the site due to global warming.

Now, in a dry style, complementing food, particularly salmon. First rate Pinot Gris, about $43.

Stunner. Deep golden amber. Rather oxidative but tropical fruit notes leading to unctuous yet lively texture and explosion of mature fruits on palate and long finish. Paired perfectly with Andrew’s shrimp in olive oil garlic pasta with parsley! Four Half bottles. Two ‘95 full. AA20 ea. Two days stored sealed in Florastor bottle, tried with Kalbi and baby bok choy from David’s mom and paired really well! Better than the red blend Renegade.
