Vignoble de Vaulorent Fourchaume Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay

Predictably fresh as a daisy. Got to say, I occasionally really like Fevre once it's got a few years on it. Seems like tonight is the night of really great wines that aren't cool. Andouilette free zone.

First bottle had good acidity but was very oxidative so rejected. Defective.

Showing its ripe vintage. Wants more time to get to the secondary interesting stuff

Showing oyster shells and citrus, perfect pair with oysters and good friends.

Past its prime tonight...

Coravined four months ago and a bit stinky on the nose

Corked! Darn!

First bottle was oxidative. Tried another and though ever so slightly oxidative, still bright with citrus, oyster shells, some floral notes. Lovely wine.

Outstanding 1er cru, perfect with Kumamoto oysters.
