Medium gold color. Nice weight. An un-Chablis like nose. Notes of ginger and iodine, lemon, white clay and some cardamom. Sweet fruit in the mouth, but quiet and dull at first. It needs 4 hours of air before the acidity comes out and any sort of structure appears. If one was to drink this before hour 4, you might dump it as it was not at all interesting until then. Overall it’s not a bad showing, but this is another 05 Chablis that to me comes across more like a really good CA Chardonnay rather than what I look for in a grand cru Chablis. Maybe more age helps?
