La Vacherotte Hautes Côtes de Nuits Pinot Noir

A main player on BYob night at French restaurant. Silky smooth (decanted at least 30/45 mins); beautiful crushed red fruit thing fused with some kind of cardamom spice mix thing. Paired with roast salmon in a charcuterie sauce. Felt like a really in their prime 4th outfielder who could play any position in a pinch—not a standout but absolutely integral as a team player, if you can forgive baseball metaphors.

Roaring nose of big deep cherries, cherry flower, grape jellly, spice and earth. A stunning nose. So expansive and clear. Tremendous palate of deep cherry fruit, great acidity and loads of spice intermingled. Terrific purity and very expressive fruit. So silky and refined.

Now this really shows the excellence of 15 at the lower levels. Complex nose of spice, mineral and spice inflected cherry fruit. Super cinnamon, clove and cardamon spices. Palate is ripe, but compact, bright and balanced with great purity and freshness. Long and juicy.

Awesome. Vincent killed this wine and killed 15. Vaporized it. Big ripe, dense cherry skin and macerated mid season cherries. Loads of earth and stoney minerals. Floral. This is a drop dead nose. So detailed and full of fruit and character. Has a stony NSG character for sure. Palate is deep and so juicy. Toothsome with sweet cherry fruit that is vibrant and sour cherry as well. Amazing amplitude here on the mid palate and such refinement for the category. it drinks like a brilliant NSG village wine. This is truly unreal. Vincent is a genius. This will unfurl and get better as it aerates as all Vincent’s wines do. The concentration and purity of the fruit are astonishing. Long toothsome finish that keeps echoing fruit. Awesome.

Huge, densely fruited nose. Wow. Smells like 1er Cru. Soupy (in a good way) and so complex. Black cherry fruits. A massive amount. Earth and soil tones. So so much in the nose. Just incredible. This was sold before the over 14% tariffs were the parting gift of the jerkoff USTR Lighthizer. So this was $21.99 a case. Absurd. Wow, palate is dense and juicy with just beautiful pure fruit and superb balance. Fresh, inky and so pure. Not that complex but the beauty and massive amount of fruit makes up for it. Just gorgeous wine. Wow what a finish. Keeps expanding and expanding. Sappy and dense. This is just terrific! What a job my Vincent.

After air this gets so much earthier and deeper on the nose. Cherry juice and consommé. So so deep.

Wonderful value red burgundy from Vincent Ledy. Aromas are pure and lift out of the glass. Quite a bit of earth / forest floor at first which after a bit of air evens out nicely. Excellent acid on the finish. Really a nice one.

Just a great drink for the money. Smooth, authentic and harmonious
